On Wisconsin the Bow Wow Wow Badger State!

Two cities in Wisconsin are a playground for Fido.

By Greg Sims

Green Bay is the oldest city in Wisconsin and well known as the Packers hometown. While wineries, cheese tasting and breweries dot the landscape; it’s the Packers that drive the economy in Green Bay.

Recently named an All-American city, it consistently ranks high on “best-places” lists as well.

With your canine companion, take a one-mile walk along Green Bay’s Walk of Legends featuring 24 engraved granite and steel obelisk statues celebrating the history of Green Bay football.

Fido will insist on a visit to Golrusks’ Specialty Pet Boutique where you can find a wide variety of supplies for your dog from beds, food, toys, treats and many more items for Fido’s discerning nod of approval.

After working up a thirst, bring Fido along to the award-winning craft microbrewery, Badger State Brewing Company, where you can dine al fresco weather permitting and join in the November Firkin Fest. Located in the famed Lambeau Field “Stadium District,” they feature Green Chop Session IPA, Bunyan Badger English Style Brown Ale and much more.

Pack up the pooch and drive 30 miles to visit Appleton. Situated on the Fox River, Appleton is known as the town where famed magician Harry Houdini grew up along with being home to Fox River Mall, the second largest shopping mall in the state.
