Aloft Greenville Downtown Celebrates Launch of Local Foster Dog Program with Let’em Live Upstate

Aloft Greenville Downtown, a new lifestyle hotel located in the heart of downtown Greenville, today celebrated the launch of its foster dog program with local partner Let’em Live Upstate. Through the new program, Aloft will work with Let’em Live Upstate to foster dogs in need of a forever home, housing one dog at a time who can be adopted by hotel guests and visitors.

“We are humbled to work with Let’em Live Upstate to launch such a unique program in the Greenville market,” said Jonathan Brashier, general manager of Aloft Greenville Downtown. “The program allows us to make a difference by helping more dogs find their forever homes, while advocating for the compassionate treatment of animals in our community. Our guests and visitors will be able to enjoy the company of each dog that lives in the hotel, and many of them will return home with a new best friend.”

Let’em Live Upstate is a voice for animals and is committed to seeing positive change for animal welfare in Greenville and the surrounding area. “We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Aloft to launch this wonderful program,” said Jessica Monroe, director of Let’em Live Upstate. “By visiting Aloft, those looking to adopt can interact with a single dog in an intimate setting – whether playing with the dog in the lobby or walking them on the hotel’s sixth floor dog walk. We screen each person to ensure they are the perfect match for their new dog. The program is a win-win for all involved.”

Aloft has several local sponsors supporting the program. Wilson Associates Real Estate partnered with Tindall Architecture Workshop to build a state-of-the-art dog house for the program, which is a miniature replica of the hotel that will be stationed in the hotel lobby and serve as each adoptable dog’s own space to play and rest. Solid Gold Pet, a Greenville-based company that founded the premium, holistic pet food category in the United States, will supply each foster dog with nutrient-dense food and send each adopting family home with a care package to ensure an ongoing healthy diet. Paw Paws USA, which designs an artistic and expressive line of collars, leashes and harnesses, will send each dog home with a new leash and collar.

The new program is modeled after the successful foster dog program at Aloft Asheville Downtown, which launched in 2014 and has helped 58 dogs find their forever home to date. This program has been featured in leading media outlets such as People, O Magazine, Condé Nast, The Huffington Post and on the NBC Nightly News and The Meredith Vieira Show. The Aloft hotels in Greenville and Asheville are operated by McKibbon Hospitality, a leading hotel development and management group committed to providing unique guest experiences while making a difference in the local communities it serves.
