The Vintages Trailer Resort

Glamping with Our Pup Honey at The Vintages Trailer Resort

By Susan Sims

This past weekend, we hit the road with our dog Honey and escaped to a retro gem in the heart of Oregon wine country—The Vintages Trailer Resort in Dayton. And honestly? It was everything we needed and more.

We booked a stay in one of the resort’s brand-new pet-friendly trailers—the Shasta Plus, tucked sweetly along Pinot Lane. It’s one of the only trailers where dogs are allowed, so we felt lucky to snag a spot. The Shasta is a charming reinterpretation of a classic 1941 travel trailer: cozy, clever, and surprisingly well-equipped. Full-size bed? Check. Private bathroom with a real shower? Yep. Cute little kitchen area for snacks and wine chilling? You bet.

Honey wasted no time making herself comfortable—she jumped right on the bed, staked her claim, and gave us the “I could live here” look.

Retro Vibes + Modern Comfort

What makes The Vintages so special is the perfect blend of nostalgia and comfort. Think vintage Airstreams and Shastas, polished to perfection, each with its own personality. Outside, every trailer comes with a patio set, grill, and cruiser bikes (which we loved for pedaling around the park). There’s even a seasonal pool, a cozy Fireside area for adults, and a General Store stocked with artisan snacks, wine, and local goodies.

And here’s the real kicker: a Tasting Passport included with your stay, giving you access to free and discounted tastings at nearby wineries. It’s basically a DIY wine tour without the planning stress. We explored a few dog-friendly wineries nearby while Honey lounged under the patio tables like a professional wine dog.

Dog-Friendly Details

While not all trailers are pet-friendly, the resort has made the Shasta line the go-to option for dog owners. It’s clear they’ve thought this through. There’s enough space for your pup to settle in, grassy spots nearby for quick walks, and staff who are genuinely happy to see your four-legged travel buddy.
