Arden Moore Earns Master Pet First Aid Instructor Certification

FIDO is SO excited to share this impressive news about our friend Arden Moore and thrilled that she plans to deliver her hands-on pet first aid training to even more pet professionals and pet owners across the country in 2013.

OCEANSIDE, CALIF. – Pet expert Arden Moore happily wears many ‘collars’ in the pet world: animal behavior consultant, radio show host, author of best-selling pet books and in-demand professional speaker.

And recently, Moore completed an intensive program to move up from regular to master certified instructor with Pet Tech, the world’s No. 1 hands-on pet first aid/CPR and care program. She becomes only the 14th person in Pet Tech to reach this level that enables her to not only teach regular one-day classes but conduct three-day training programs for individuals interested in becoming instructors.  “We’re excited and happy to have Arden join the Pet Tech family of master certified instructors,” says Thom Somes, Pet Tech founder known as The Pet Safety Guy. “She’s a natural teacher and is very dynamic, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about pets. She brings that into all of her first aid classes.”

Moore, known as The Pawsitive Coach™, is the founder of Four Legged Life.com and creator of National Dog Party Day. She is often joined in her classes by her therapy dog, Chipper and her tolerant, patient cat, Zeki, who is the first feline teaching assistant in the Pet Tech program. Chipper and Zeki calmly allow students to check their pulses, put on safety muzzles and more.

“Being able to give students the ability to practice hands-on skills on a real dog and a cat is a plus,” says Moore. “In my classes, my goal is to replace panic with can-do knowledge in emergency situations when minutes count. I also customize my pet first aid classes depending if my students are pet parents or pet professionals, such as pet sitters, veterinary technicians, dog walkers, groomers or boarding facility staff members. Wellness, behavior and dental care are also covered in our classes.”

One recent graduate is Dallyn McCuisition, a registered nurse in Scripps Ranch, Calif., took the class to learn how to care for Bear, her beloved 4-year-old Chihuahua-Pomeranian mix. “I’m a registered nurse and learned a lot about first aid for pets in Arden’s class,” says McCuistion. “I learned how to take care of my dog, Bear in the event of an emergency until we can get to a vet. “

Moore’s reputation for teaching pet first aid is growing beyond San Diego County. She has conducted classes for the Palm Springs Humane Society staff, taught pet professionals in Seattle and will be traveling with her cat, Zeki to Dallas in mid-January to conduct a series of classes in first aid and behavior to professional pet sitters, shelter works and concerned pet parents.

“One of the most important ways to be your pet’s best health ally is by being trained in pet first aid,” says Moore. “That’s what motivated me to become a master certified instructor in pet first aid, CPR and safety. I’m here to help people learn how to play it safe with their pets.”
