When Megan Nolan (Cameron Bure) feels guilty for uprooting her ten-year-old daughter Caitlin to a new town, she lets her pick out a stray pup at the local pound. But things get complicated when Caitlin chooses the most uncontrollable dog at the shelter. And just when Megan is about to return the disobedient canine, Jake’s handsome owner Ben (Victor Webster) shows up to claim his pooch. Despite their initial differences, Ben soon discovers that his puppy play dates may now be grooming him for true love.
