Celebrities pitch in for ASPCA Extreme Shelter Makeover: Adoption success!

The ASPCA selected a shelter in California, the Camarillo shelter, only one of 50 chosen by the ASPCA to compete for its 2011 $100K Challenge.

It kicked off the 100K Challenge with a star studded makeover on Saturday, August 6.

Celebrities Orlando Brown, Michelle Forbes, Jackson Galaxy, and Kim Sill of The Heigl Foundation and founder of D Cups Saving Tea Cups, spoke out on the importance of adopting from your local shelter.

Six rescues (Pawsitive Match, Bichons & Buddies, Tina's Little Pampered Paws, DAWG, HEAL, and TLC), coordinated by the Heigl Foundation, rescued dogs from the Camarillo shelter on Saturday.  Pawsitive Match took 14 chihuahuas back to Canada with them!

The final count was 55 animals adopted!  37 dogs, 8 cats, and 10 bunnies found new homes on Saturday.

According to Orlando Brown, "Shelter pets are the best home improvement you can make!"
