flexi® product review for dogs

Remember the excitement of bringing home your new puppy—feeling the softness of their fur on your cheek, the countless kisses, the wiggles in your palms, the never-ending love radiating from their travel-sized, squirmy bodies? Then the newness wears off, and you are faced with the reality of potty training and behavior commands. flexi® retractable leashes have taken strides to overcome the stigma that retractable leashes cannot be used in training while simultaneously incorporating glam and comfort into the mix.

What did FIDO Friendly love about flexi® retractable leashes? Never mind the array of differing lengths you can purchase—the light-weight, graspable handle had me at woof. Perfect for our leisurely strolls where Fido could be Fido, I knew she enjoyed the extra freedom as she strutted and sniffed. When we would approach persons or traffic, the operating system designed for needing only one-hand made control a snap. Or when I needed a shortened leash for jogging, the all in one is light in your hand and light on the checkbook, as you’ll quickly find you won’t need to purchase several different leash lengths anymore.

As most pet parents can attest, even the well-trained Fido needs reinforcement and sometimes even a bit more training. flexi® is perfect for distance work. It creates the feeling of freedom, yet allows you to remain in control to follow through with commands. Commands followed up with positive reinforcement are the perfect tools to work in cahoots with flexi®.

The only thing I wish flexi® had would be add-ons. It would be great if they included a little poo bag dispenser or an extra short training loop you could clip on for heeling training or those instances when you need to quickly pull Fido away. Even though flexi® has begun a luxury pet leash line that includes Swarovski Crystals, it would be fabulous if you had the option to customize your very own Fido’s name on it.

Currently, flexi® has 7 lines that within each, most of the time you can choose from differing lengths and color options. Sold in stores like Petco and Pet Depot, flexi® can also be found online at dogsoutfitter.com, 1800petmeds.com and petdoors.com to name a few. Visit www.flexiusa.com to see a complete list of retailers. Pricing seems to vary depending upon the retailer but can range from $20-39.99.

FIDO Friendly gives flexi® 4 paws up, but even though it may seem like common sense, like with any product used by or given to Fido, be sure to read all warnings and use instructions. Click this link from flexi® to view flexi®’s directions and special precautions safety video.
