Halloween came early and for a great cause!

Team ASPCA celebrated Halloween early with a great event in Los Angeles that helped raise funds and awareness for animals in need. Celebs including Will Ferrell, Olympian and Dancing with the Stars contestant Shawn Johnson, American Idol finalist Skylar Laine and television personality Brandon Jenner joined over 300 Team ASPCA members to race to support the ASPCA at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Los Angeles Halloween Half-Marathon in Los Angeles on Sunday, October 28th.

The ASPCA also hosted a Shelter Pet Costume Contest with special guest judge Fiona, recipient of the 2012 ASPCA “Dog of the Year” Humane Award. The contest featured adoptable pets from the Los Angeles Animal Alliance and Los Angeles County Animal Care Foundation, to which the ASPCA presented a grant of $100,000 to further their mission of finding homes for animals in need and ending animal homelessness in the Los Angeles area.
Post-race, runners and a celebs had a chance to meet these adoptable pups at the ASPCA’s Bark Park.
