With a view from our room of Harry Potter World at Universal Studios, our expectations were exceeded in every way while staying with our rescue dog, Honey on a recent trip.
From the moment Honey set paw in to the beautiful lobby of the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City, she knew she wasn’t in Kansas anymore. The expansive glass brought the beautiful California weather in to view and the friendly staff made check in a breeze with the appropriate amount of compliments paid to our furry companion.

But make that Joplin, Missouri where we adopted Honey three years ago on our pet adoption tour, Get Your Licks on Route 66®. Now Honey had the luxury to travel and sniff out hotels for purpose of review and while waiting for her appearance on Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family the next day, she was ready to relax in our sumptuous corner room with king bed and sleeper sofa. Our large room gave us plenty of space to relax amidst comfort and style. Top of the line amenities as expected and no surprise that the hotel was awarded the Gold level certified by Green Seal for environmental lodging.
Blackout curtains protect you from the early morning rays but who wants to miss the beautiful sunrise?
We had a great nights sleep on the Hilton Serenity Bed with 250 thread count sheets and were ready to for our close-up at Universal Studios. There is a designated pet relief area where we stopped before heading out.

Wonderful Cuisine Inside the Hilton at Universal City
Located in the heart of Los Angeles’ entertainment district, I can see why folks make this home base to explore all of what Hollywood is known for. And if traveling with Fido, you couldn’t find a more attentive staff to defer to both your and Fido’s needs. We were thrilled to be able to dine with our pooch al fresco in the atrium and order from Café Sierra restaurant offering California, Continental and Chinese cuisine.
As the pescatarian in the group I had so many wonderful choices, it was hard to pick just one, so I ordered several! The meaty Alaskan King Crab Cakes served with Chipotle aioli was a great start and who doesn’t like a touch of Chipotle Aioli to wake up your taste buds? I have to admit that many hotel menus are lacking in vegetarian and vegan fare, but not so Café Sierra. The Buddha’s Feast with wok-fired tofu couldn’t get any better. Hands and paws down, this is the place to be satiated after a long day of sightseeing with wonderful service and ambiance. Four paws up from this Fido-friendly family.
You don’t need to be a celebrity like Honey to enjoy the comfort of the Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City, you just need an eye for the finer things in life and the enjoyment traveling with Fido brings.
