In memory of Uli: A dog forever loved

From Yvonne de Wet

Waiting at the bridge – Forever in our Heart.

Uli was named after a Germany Shepherd police dog killed in the line of duty. He had been stabbed while catching a felon.  The police dog was a male, named after South African rugby player Uli Schmidt.

At the vet for our pup’s first innoculations and were told that they could not save the German Shepherd police dog. That is when we decided to name her Uli.

What a gentle giant. A big teddy bear. Such an integral part of our family as the children were young teenagers when we got her. This was their heart dog.

Our darling girl died at the age of 13yrs.

Uli was like an eternal Peter Pan, a child who never grows old, is always available to love and be loved.

She was would surf the sea with the children, quite happy to be ‘dumped by a waves’.

Completely unafraid until there was a thunder storm!

Uli, my love, rest in peace until one by one we join you at Rainbow Bridge.
