Kids and Dogs with Craniofacial Conditions Inspire One Another at Penn Vet/CHOP Event

CHOP Craniofacial Patients Meet Dogs with Similar Conditions - During First Ever “Best Friends Bash” at Penn Vet – Wednesday July 17th in Philadelphia, PA.

WHO:        20 Craniofacial patients from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)


WHAT:      Will have the opportunity to meet and be inspired by four Penn Vet patients with similar conditions:
 

                   Lentil, a French Bulldog puppy who had surgery to repair his cleft palate (see his video below!);
                  Georgia, a Gordon Setter who had a cancer removed from her upper jaw;
                  Buddy, a Golden Retriever who had part of his lower jaw removed; and
                  Rosie, a Golden Retriever therapy dog who had part of her foot removed due to a tumor, & is a member of CHOP’s Paw Partners
 


WHEN:      Wednesday, July 17, 2013  -  5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

DETAILS:   This unique partnership between Penn Vet and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) aims to help children see how dogs are affected by similar problems and how they have adapted.  Clinicians and nurses from CHOP’s Craniofacial Program and Penn Vet’s dentistry and oral surgery team also will be in attendance to discuss cases and learn from each other’s techniques.
