Love is in the Air: BOBS from Skechers Partner with Petco Love and Wings of Rescue to Save Pets Affected by Hurricane Idalia
The partnership between BOBS from Skechers, Petco Love and Wings of Rescue is the brand’s latest initiative since announcing $10 million donated in support of animal welfare organizations – funds that have helped save 1.9 million dogs and cats in need.
After Hurricane Idalia made landfall in Florida earlier this month as a Category 3 hurricane, BOBS from Skechers and Petco Love coordinated with Wings of Rescue to evacuate 140+ shelter pets from partner animal welfare organizations affected by the storm. Two planes filled with cats and dogs, led by the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, Hillsborough County Animal Shelter, and Jacksonville Humane Society, were taken to the Brandywine Valley SPCA team in Delaware who are coordinating the adoption of these pets to families in the surrounding areas.
Since the evacuation, two adorable dogs, Lori and Chippy have been adopted and more are meeting new potential forever homes each day.
