Marley & Me: The Puppy Years: DVD Review
August 03, 2011 • Product Reviews
I confess, I didn’t see the original Marley and Me movie. Knowing how it ends and having loved and lost a dog, I just couldn’t let my heart “go there.” So when I was given the opportunity to review the movie, Marley & Me: The Puppy Years (aka the “prequel), I was thrilled. Releasing exclusively to Walmart and Sam’s Club on August 16, fans of Marley and puppies in general, get ready: Marley and friends “speak” in this movie.
These are dogs who talk and the technology makes it look effortless. Marley and friends work their magical mojo for a near 110-minute Fido fest that had me laughing out loud. By the way, I’m one of those people who gives their dog an audible voice, so how refreshing to find talking dogs on DVD.
The DVD comes packed with fun extras so fans can see behind-the-scenes on set. The plot was fun, held my attention and left me wanting more Marley.
Some of my favorite one-liners to watch for:
Pug when a mailman takes a spill and his bag of contents scatter: “Air mail”
Three lab puppies looking at a sprinkler:
“What is it?”
“Not sure, whatever it is, not edible; I’ve already tried.”
Oh and try not cheering for Marley at the Ultimate Puppy Championship.
Four lab paws in the air for Marley & Me: The Puppy Years, which the whole family can watch together. And if you’ve got kids, again and again and again. Cuteness times infinity.
