Pets Add Life Awards $10,000 to National Mill Dog Rescue

Greenwich, CT – The votes are in! The American Pet Products Association (APPA) President and CEO, Bob Vetere, is pleased to announce the three winners of the Pets Add Life (PAL) “Help a Shelter Out” Facebook contest. Rallying local communities for the most online votes on PAL’s Facebook page, National Mill Dog Rescue takes the $10,000 grand prize followed by Rocky Ridge Refuge and Animal Aid for Vermilion Area each receiving runner-up cash prizes.
“We were thrilled with the amount of participation the contest received and are so pleased to be able to support and give back to the winning organizations,” said Vetere. “It’s encouraging to see so many shelters rally their local communities in support of the ultimate mission, to help provide deserving animals with great homes.”
Receiving a total of 12,520 fan votes, National Mill Dog Rescue of Peyton Colo. took home the $10,000 grand prize. Coming in second for $3,000 with 9,177 total votes was the Rocky Ridge Rescue of Midway, Ark. followed by the Animal Aid for Vermilion Area of Scott, La. with 3,258 votes for a $2,000 prize.
In total, the contest received 94 shelter entrants nationwide, garnering nearly 42,000 total fan votes. To participate, entrants had to ‘like’ PAL’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/petsaddlife and complete the “Help a Shelter Out” entry form.
