Splish splash, the dog’s takin’ a bath: Product reviews
August 10, 2010 • Product Reviews
Hands up for everyone who loves washing the dishes! What – no one? I think it’s safe to say that washing the dishes is a necessary evil, but when that water runs past your wrists and drips down your arms, it’s almost like a slow drip form of water torture. Washing your face, the dishes, the car and even bathing Fido are all tasks we must do, but does that mean we must continually get soaking wet?
When I first came across ON THE CUFF, I thought the sky had parted and the lights shown through the clouds were the sweet sounds of angels singing, “Hallelujah”! Ok, so I’m being a little melodramatic. As annoying as that tickling feeling of water droplets running down my arms were, shouldn’t I just tough it out? But then again, why should I have to “tough it out” if there is a better solution?
Although ON THE CUFF is not the most stylish bangle I’ve adorned my wrists with, I was delightfully surprised that they actually worked! Such a common, annoying problem completely zapped out of my life with a simple and economic solution. You simply slide the one size fits all cuff on to each wrist, and voila! No more water drips, and the cuffs are so light-weight and non-bulky, I soon forgot I even had them on. Once finished, simply slide them off and squeeze out the excess water. The only downside is that so far the cuffs do not come in any colors or designs, and when used to bathe my Fido, it did collect some fur.
Created by Rana Bauer after years of experiencing the same frustration, ON THE CUFF is available in 1 Pair Pack or 4 Pair Pack from $7.99 to $24.99, respectively. You can also purchase the customized Drying stand for $5.99 or receive it for free with the 4 Pair Pack.Available for order at ON THE CUFF and also a listing of retailers can be found there. Overall Product Review: We give this product 4 out of 5 paws.

Now that Fido’s dripping wet and just before he or she does that crazy dog zoomie run around the house, you’ll need something to dry those soaky paws and wet wags.
Enter the Chammyz by Body Parts, Inc. Unlike it’s sound-alike (chamois), the fabrics in Chammyz are made from a superior plant-based alternative. 100% recycled materials, 100% UVA and UVB protected, and 9-1/2 times more absorbent than cotton. The fabric softens as you wash it and generally lasts more than the average pair of jeans (500 washings).
Unlike a cotton towel, I found that the Chammyz actually absorbed the water and soaked up many a sopping wet pooch with heavy cocker spaniel hair. Once the drying was done, I can honestly say the efficacy of the Chammyz proved itself worthy of a happy dance from this dog mom.
An entire line of products is available including the cutest Chammyz surf and spa robe. Since it softens with each wash and wear, I look forward to the oh so cuddly wet cocker who will find warmth in this robe as the winter months loom. (plus it’s darn cute!)
