Training dogs to saving dogs

Guest Blogger: Sharon Price Blythe

As a dog trainer, every week I receive many stories and requests from people who need to re-home their dog, found a stray dog, their dog had puppies, newsletters from rescue groups, etc. They ask me to help, but I can’t do it alone.

Over the past two years, I have been trying to build up a network of pet parents who might want to adopt or knows somebody who might want to adopt these animals. I have three dogs that are rescues; the latest one is Sammy. If I had not taken him (because of his “bad record”), he would have been immediately euthanized at the pound. I’m so blessed to have been able to rescue him because he is an awesome “dawg!”

Recently, my friend Regina and I created a group page called Help Save a Dog Network (HSAD).  We are not asking that people adopt every dog we post info on, but to re-post them and spread the word. I believe this forum could possibly save a lot of dogs lives and find some a forever home. HSAD also posts fun stories, pictures and educational material about dogs.

QUESTION:  Do you have a rescue pooch? Reply here and tell us about him/her.
