Who wants to win $1,000 for the animal rescue of their choice?

Who would like to win $10,000 for the animal rescue of their choice? (insert *zoiks* sound here)

One can only imagine how much $10,000 can help animal rescue. As the recipient of Petfinder’s Best Pet Parent contest in 2010, I was able to donate $10,000 to Oldies But Goodies Cocker Rescue, and ten cockers were able to have their sight either saved, restored or helped. Moola means mucho to dog rescue and foster care.

FIDO Friendly magazine was nominated for three Dogtime Media blogger awards this year, affectionately called The Petties. Fans of FIDO Friendly voted feverishly to nominate us and then towards helping us win. We have been nominated in the categories of Best Overall Pet Blog, Best Dog Blog, and Best Blog Post.

Well, the red carpet is ready and Dogtime Media will announce the winners with a live stream THIS Friday, August 26th at 5 pm eastern. Just log on to www.dogtime.com/petties and you can watch all the excitement and presentation live.

By watching, you can also win money for the shelter of your choice! As Dogtime explained, “We’ll be giving away two $1,000 shelter donations on behalf of a couple of lucky Twitter users. Just use the hashtag #petties when tweeting during the show. “
