Holiday Pet Safety

Steps you can take to keep Fido healthy and safe.

By Tamra Bolton

“Holidays can become ‘howl-i-days’ without exercising proper safety for pets”, cautions Arden Moore, The Pet Health and Safety Coach™ and host of Oh Behave Show on Pet Life Radio. “No one wants to spend Thanksgiving or Christmas at an emergency veterinary clinic.”

While you can’t make the holidays completely stress-free for you or your pet, says Moore, there are steps you can take to keep Fido healthy and safe.

It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement and traditions of our celebrations and forget that Fido doesn’t always look at things the same way. Put yourself in your dogs’ place–you drag in a huge tree with prickly needles and a thousand different smells, and put it in his favorite napping spot...you play different music...you move furniture around...strange people stop by and sit in his chair...and you forget to take him out for a walk, for the third time this week.
