Find Fido-Friendly fun on and off the slopes

By Robin Tierney

Take a walk anywhere around Whistler and you’ll soon see why this mountain resort is regarded as the “dog-friendly” capital of Canada. With numerous Fido-friendly hotels, canine hospitality and support services, and an epic offering of dog walking trails, it’s the perfect place for a Fido-friendly vacation. But where’s the best place to stay, what activities welcome dogs, and where’s the best place to stock up on those all-important doggy treats? Here’s everything you need to know to enjoy a Fido-friendly Canadian adventure.

DOG-FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES
Whistler is North America’s leading ski resort so it’s hardly surprising that you’ll be treated to world-class skiing or snowboarding while you’re here. But there are a few other activities that form the perfect après ski. Oh, and don’t worry, Fido can come along, too!

Let’s start with Forged Axe Throwing. Regarded as one of the most awesome indoor activities in Whistler, this most Canadian of pastimes involves hurling an axe at a bullseye and truly unleashing that inner lumberjack. Forged is extremely dog-friendly, too—they even have a house axe throwing dog, the company mascot Bandito.
