Question: What do you get when you cross 300+ animal lovers with several panel discussions, toss in prizes and giveaways galore, and then gingerly shake (not stir) a community of giving guardians helping homeless pets and top it all off with a Frugal Dougal cherry?
Answer: You’ve got BlogPaws, the visionary and progressive-thinking, paw-forward group founded by pet bloggers.
Yours truly attended this fur-tabulous 2-day event held recently at the Westin in Columbus, Ohio. As a writer, it’s the anecdotal verbal musings I tend to carry home along as souvenirs from Fido-related events. As I scroll through my pictures and page through my diary of scribbled notes, I recall the message of BlogHer guest speaker, Elisa Camahort. We, as bloggers, document the memories and lives of the world around us. So instead of a typical journal-style recap of the event, it is with ardent fervor that on behalf of FIDO Friendly, I proudly present “BlogPaws-ings: Fur For Thought” (aka ‘Stuff People Said’). If you hear yourself in one of these comments, feel free to fess up and reply.

If you were there and care to add to the list of things overheard, be our guest.
I personally want to thank DelMontePets, as I won a $500 food donation to the shelter of my choice, which is Oldies But Goodies Cocker Rescue, along with a $200 VISA gift card. Thanks also to the folks at BlogPaws, including Caroline Golon, Yvonne DiVita, and Tom Collins for the incredible event and all that it took to make it happen. FIDO Friendly will be there for sure and on the panel next year!
Some of those in attendance were Andrea Arden, host of Animal Planet’s Underdog to Wonderdog, Jane Harrell of Petfinder.com, Stephanie Miles of WEBMD.com, Jane Couto of momgenerations.com, and Jenny Cisney of Kodak, along with sponsors, vendors, and good folks galore.
Question: Would you ever attend a conference where dogs, cats, ferrets, etc. were invited and welcomed to be in attendance?
