ZuZuca rolling pet carrier: FIDO Friendly product review
October 28, 2011 • Product Reviews
ZUCA is a trend setter. If you’ve got a dog and/or a lot of dog supplies, goodies and different items you travel with, FIDO Friendly has found a trendy new way to roll Fido and his supplies around. Treats? Covered. Toys? Covered? Small dog or cat? Oh yes, covered.
Yours truly travels often, and though her sturdy cocker spaniel was a bit too, shall we say, large for this product, my goodies, purse, and all of my dog’s supplies were toted around with ease. Oh, and testing it at a trade show meant double the fun. All those expo flyers, all those items you buy during trips, and all those bags you collect in shopping: they all find a safe haven in this item.
What in the world is Zuca? As the website explains, “Entrepreneur meets engineer. They marry and have kids. A daughter develops spine problems. The culprit? A backpack loaded with heavy schoolbooks. Mom knew there must be thousands with the same problem. She went straight to the source and asked students what they wanted in a school book bag. She asks Dad to create something for their daughter incorporating many of the student's requests. Dad headed to the garage and built the company's flagship product, the ZÜCA Sport.”
The ZuZuca is an absolute brainchild of a brain from the folks at Zuca. Built with an aluminum external ZÜCA Sport frame that doubles as a mobile seat for dog moms and dads, this is the greatest thing on wheels since the Mustang I pined for years ago. For FIDO Friendly readers with a small pet, they can fit easily and comfortable in this item, which comes complete with a comfy removable washable pad.
I kept Dexter’s water bowl, bowl, and first aid kit stowed away in the mesh side pockets and kept all of my larger items during a recent trip to Georgia in the actual carrier. The ZuZuca can be used as a mobile seat when traveling (bonus points!) with a standard seat belt in the vehicle. The double wheels had me at hell-o or is that re-ro?
Available in a variety of colors and with a mesh insert color choice of charcoal or pink, we loved this product so much that we talked about it on Animal Café this month: FIDO Friendly October ZuZuca

It weighs about 9 pounds, has a telescoping handle that took a beating from yours truly and performed extremely well, and is nicely priced at around $150. Keep in mind, this is a product you use for years and serves multiple purposes. Big time tail wag from this reviewer. Woof!
