Jay-J is a five-year-old Dalmatian I rescued from Dayville, Connecticut. He was there for seven months, during which time a few people adopted him but returned him because of his “personality” issues (aggression, lack of socialization, chronic mange). After a year of hard work, Jay-J became a great dog and my best buddy. One of my favorite things to do with Jay-J is to go on weekend getaways.

Max thinks he can do anything. There is no opponent too large to bark at or toy too fast for catching. If he’s not getting enough attention, he brings his tennis ball and insists we throw it. I comply or the entire dog will bark—loudly.

His temperament is uniquely gentle, which enables him to serve as a pet therapy service animal for children with disabilities in the Bronx, New York. Luca is an 80-pound meatball born to love!
